Birding at Trap Pond State Park – Featuring a Chipping Sparrow (4/11/23)

We birded in the area around the parking lots, along the shore of the pond, across the bridge over the pond along the road, and up to the campground parking lot and boat launch area. Some of the birds we identified included brown thrasher, Carolina chickadee, eastern bluebird, northern cardinal, blue jay, black vulture, chipping sparrow, Canada goose, great blue heron, yellow-throated warbler, eastern phoebe, bald eagle (adult), blue-gray gnatcatcher, pileated woodpecker, worm-eating warbler, pine warbler, mallard, white-eyed vireo, downy woodpecker, yellow-rumped warbler, American goldfinch, and osprey.
