I went on a Sussex Bird Club trip. There were 27 people in the group on this nice spring day. We covered two areas. First, we circled the areas around the Nature Center and parking lots. Birds we identified here included eastern bluebird, Carolina chickadee, great blue heron, white-throated sparrow, hermit thrush, chipping sparrow, brown thrasher, yellow-rumped warbler, pileated woodpecker, laughing gull, pine warbler, blue-gray gnatcatcher, and brown-headed cowbird. Next, we drove to the Bethesda Church section of the park and walked the Bob Trail up to the boardwalk. Some of the birds we identified here included pine siskin, prothonotary warbler (from the boardwalk), yellow-throated warbler, hermit thrush, white-eyed vireo, American goldfinch, eastern phoebe, gray catbird, great blue heron, ovenbird, and Carolina wren.
