We covered a lot of ground today. Our first stop was at the Nature Center. The feeders attracted many birds including nanday parakeet, painted bunting, and boat-tailed grackle. Other birds in the area included western cattle egret, purple martin, bald eagle, and loggerhead shrike (on the purple martin house by the bathroom). The Palmer Blvd. Boardwalk had plenty of ducks and shorebirds including blue-winged teal, gray-headed swamphen, American coot, white ibis, glossy ibis, purple gallinule, and common gallinule. We spent some time walking in the Central Cell area. Birds we saw there included brown pelican, Forster’s tern, palm warbler, green heron, anhinga, blue-gray gnatcatcher, purple martin, and great blue heron. We went to the Raymond Road boardwalk next. Along the way, we saw two sandhill cranes off the side of the road. Some of the birds we saw from the boardwalk were American coot, anhinga, little blue heron, tree swallow, northern harrier, osprey, white ibis, purple gallinule, and common gallinule. Our last stop was Walker Tract. Among the birds we saw there were roseate spoonbill, sora, snowy egret, white ibis, blue-winged teal, tricolored heron, little blue heron, eastern phoebe, American coot, anhinga, and great blue heron.

Awesome. I need to go there soon.
Yes, you should go and spend much of the day there as there are many areas to cover. We always get a lot of birds there.
