Birding at Fowler Beach: Featuring Snow Geese (2/3/24)

We first walked the trail to the beach. There were at least 5,000 snow geese on the water and probably more. Some of them came ashore. One ring-billed gull was eating a fish by the shoreline. Back in the parking lot area, we saw several short-eared owls and northern harriers late in the afternoon. Other birds seen today included mute swan, American black duck, killdeer, surf scoter, great blue heron, Savannah sparrow, bufflehead, common loon, green-winged teal, double-crested cormorant, tundra swan, and sanderling.
