Birding at Prime Hook NWR: Featuring a Peregrine Falcon (10/9/20)

This was Part 2 of our two birding trips today which took us to Prime Hook NWR. We covered the Visitor’s Center area, Dike Trail, and Boardwalk Trail. We saw a peregrine falcon soaring over us along the Dike Trail. Other birds seen along this trail included belted kingfisher, great blue heron, great egret, laughing gull, greater yellowlegs, semipalmated plover, and Forster’s tern. We spotted an immature bald eagle while walking along the Boardwalk Trail.
