For Part 2 of our afternoon birding outing, we took the short drive from Broadkill Beach to Prime Hook NWR where we birded near the Visitor’s Center and along Dike Trail. Behind the Visitor’s Center, the birds were busy near the feeders including northern cardinal, house finch, tufted titmouse, dark-eyed junco, and Carolina chickadee. We walked along the Dike Trail next. There were many northern pintails in the water on the south side of the trail. Other birds seen includd northern harrier, great blue heron, ring-billed gull, greater yellowlegs, two adult bald eagles, American black duck, and red-winged blackbird.
