We covered most of the eastern part of the Wetlands today including Wetlands Blvd, Night Heron Lane, Bobcat Trail, Cypress Boardwalk, Osprey Blvd, Bald Eagle Blvd, and Limpkin Lane. On the south side of Bald Eagle Blvd, we were treated to seeing a male vermillion flycatcher flying between the trees. On the north side of Bald Eagle Blvd, we saw a bald eagle close by its nest. Some of the other birds we saw were little blue heron, purple gallinule, American anhinga, blue-winged teal, limpkin, red-shouldered hawk, Forster’s tern, glossy ibis, palm warbler, sandhill crane, tree swallow, blue-gray gnatcatcher, tricolored heron, white ibis, blue-winged teal, American coot, common gallinule, killdeer, great egret, fish crow, roseate spoonbill, wood stork, black-crowned night heron, Caspian tern, Savannah sparrow, eastern phoebe, and pied-billed grebe.
