We went to the Ocean City Welcome Center for the first part of our day. It was cloudy during our visit, so it wasn’t the best lighting for photography. Nonetheless, we saw a decent variety of birds in the rookery and while we walked along the ground paths. Some of the birds we saw were great egret, white ibis, glossy ibis, black-crowned night heron, yellow-crowned night heron, red-winged blackbird, osprey, common loon, American oystercatcher, white-throated sparrow, red-breasted merganser, mallard, bufflehead, great black-backed gull, brant, eastern meadowlark, boat-tailed grackle, double-crested cormorant, and American black duck.
