I went on an outing with the Coastal Camera Club’s Wildlife Photography Special Interest Group to Newport Farms near Berlin, MD. This was a private tour that was specially arraged through the Sussex Bird Club. We birded among several bird habitats including woods, fields, and a large pond. The pond provided us with many opportunities to photograph belted kingfishers, great egrets, and Forster’s terns. Perching birds included yellow-rumped warblers, eastern bluebirds, blue jays, chipping sparrows, and Savannah sparrows. We saw one bald eagle, too. We picked up 38 bird species on our morning walk.
