Birding at Lewes Beach: Featuring a Sanderling (12/14/24)

I made a quick visit to Lewes Beach. It was cloudy with a cold breeze off the water. About 50 gulls were resting on the beach. They were American herring gull, ring-billed gull, and great black-backed gull. A red-throated loon was swimming in the water. A few groups of surf scoters flew by. One lone sanderling was walking on the beach near the water.
