This was our first trip to Largo Central Park Nature Preserve. It was a nice, quiet spot, not overly large, and you can get close to the birds. We took the boardwalk around the pond, then took the trail by the creek and around past the golf course. Some of the birds we saw around the pond included boat-tailed grackle, white ibis, common gallinule, white ibis, palm warbler, wood duck, yellow-crowned night heron, mallard, and limpkin. Additional birds we saw along the creek trail included bald eagle (2, on a tower), Muscovy duck, great egret, American anhinga, yellow-rumped warbler, roseate spoonbill, eastern phoebe, little blue heron, great blue heron, wood stork, tricolored heron, and red-bellied woodpecker.
