Birding at John Chesnut Sr. Park: Featuring an Anhinga (1/25/24)

Our first stop was the Boat Ramp area. We walked from the ramp along the boardwalk to where it ended. Some of the birds we saw were red-shouldered hawk, anhinga, osprey, common gallinule, American coot, great blue heron, palm warbler, yellow-rumped warbler, and tufted titmouse. Next, we walked around the pond by Picnic Shelter 6. Some of the birds we identified here were great blue heron, white ibis, little blue heron, red-bellied woodpecker, eastern phoebe, pine warbler, palm warbler, and Carolina chickadee. Our last stop was the pier area. Some of the birds we identified here were red-winged blackbird, American coot, Carolina wren, anhinga, pied-billed grebe, common gallinule, osprey, and black vulture.
