We birded by the maintenance building, part of Lake Trail up to the woods, and along Lions Head Drive up to the pond. The first two areas were the most active. There was a nesting pair of eastern phoebes under the eaves of the maintenance building. Later we saw a pair of northern orioles fly into a tree outside the gate of the maintenance building. Some of the other birds we identified included American robin, red-tailed hawk, eastern bluebird, yellow-throated vireo, great-crested flycatcher, chimney swift, American redstart, eastern wood-pewee, red-eyed vireo, veery, hairy woodpecker, blue jay, northern house wren, and chipping sparrow.
