Birding at Hibernia County Park: Featuring a Tree Swallow (4/6/21)

We birded in the park along the west side of Chambers Lake starting from the boat launch area and walking clockwise close to the lake. The northern part of the trail is blocked as a protected wildlife sanctuary from April 1-June 15 so we couldn’t walk as far as we wanted. Some of the birds we identified included tree swallow, red-winged blackbird, osprey, song sparrow and northern cardinal. On the lake we saw three Bonaparte’s gulls, Canada geese, buffleheads, wood ducks, mallards, ring-necked ducks, and a great blue heron.
