We covered a bit more ground here than we did yesterday. Some of the birds we identified along the Leeds Eco-Trail Boardwalk included house wren, purple martin, great blue heron, willet, great egret, common yellowthroat, gull-billed tern, seaside sparrow, and Canada goose. Among the birds we identified along the Gull Pond Tower Trail were mute swan, northern rough-winged swallow, bald eagle, common yellowthroat, marsh wren, and snowy egret. Birds we identified along Wildlife Drive included red-winged blackbird, Forster’s tern, black skimmer, greater yellowlegs, American oystercatcher, double-crested cormorant, turkey vulture, least tern, and greater black-backed gull. At the Refuge Overlook platform, we identified yellow warbler, Carolina wren, eastern phoebe, field sparrow, great-crested flycatcher, tree swallow, and mute swan.
