This was our first visit to Eagle Lake Park in Largo. The park is big and it has two lakes, what I call the North Lake and the South Lake. The South Lake area was much better for birds. Some of the birds we identified in this area were common gallinule, white ibis, American anhinga, laughing gull, blue jay, red-bellied woodpecker, pied-billed grebe, mallard, double-crested cormorant, and yellow-rumped warbler. There were no birds on the North Lake itself but some birds in the area around it included red-bellied woodpecker, blue-gray gnatcatcher, American robin, mourning dove, and northern mockingbird.
