Birding at Delaware Seashore State Park: Featuring a Palm Warbler (10/28/21)

I went on a trip today with the Sussex Bird Club to Delaware Seashore State Park. The first area was the Indian River Inlet. It was windy and the water was very choppy. Some of the birds we saw were royal tern, sanderling, herring gull, boat-tailed grackle, ring-billed gull, northern gannet, flocks of double-crested cormorants, osprey, small flocks of black scoters, great black-backed gull, Savannah sparrow, and yellow-rumped warbler. After the Inlet, we went to the Indian River Marina and Burton Island where we looped the entire trail. Among the birds we identified there were belted kingfisher, great blue heron, yellow-rumped warbler, palm warbler, song sparrow, bald eagle (one adult and one immature), osprey (Including one immature), northern flicker, downy woodpecker, sharp-shinned hawk, white ibis (3), ruby-crowned kinglet, golden-crowned kinglet, tricolored heron, great egret, and black-crowned night-heron.
