We went on a birdwalk with the Sussex Bird Club. We stopped at two places, the first of which was the south side of the Indian River Inlet. Some of the birds we saw there included common loon, herring gull, Bonaparte’s gull, boat-tailed grackle, Forster’s tern, black scoter, long-tailed duck, double-crested cormorant, and song sparrow. Next, went to Burton Island. The island’s entrance was blocked due to ongoing hunting. We stayed by the water near the parking lot and identified yellow-rumped warbler, bufflehead, black-crowned night heron (1), great blue heron, and Carolina wren.
