Birding at Cape Henlopen State Park: Featuring a Lesser Black-Backed Gull (10/11/22)

The Point is now open and we walked the entire loop starting from the ocean side. The tide was low but there weren’t many birds on the mudflats on the bay side. We heard a Carolina wren from the parking lot. These were the ten other bird species we saw around the loop: laughing gull, great black-backed gull, lesser black-backed gull, double-crested cormorant, brown pelican, royal tern, turkey vulture, herring gull, sanderling, and two immature bald eagles.
