Birding at Cape Henlopen State Park – Featuring a Golden-Crowned Kinglet (3/30/23)

I went on a birdwalk this morning with the Sussex Bird Club. We walked the south side of Gordon’s Pond Trail from the parking lot to just beyond Bench 4. Birds we identified included an osprey and a great horned owl nesting on separate platforms. Other birds identified included golden-crowned kinglet, American robin, brown creeper, pine warbler, bald eagle, Carolina chickadee, great egret, snowy egret, greater yellowlegs, lesser yellowlegs, glossy ibis, dunlin, Bonaparte’s gull, yellow-rumped warbler, brown-headed nuthatch, and swamp sparrow.
