I went on a birdwalk with the Sussex Bird club along the northern part of Gordon’s Pond Trail. While gathering in the parking lot, an adult bald eagle came by with a fish and landed in a nearby tree. While we watched it eat, another adult bald eagle also flew by it. We walked the trail southward. Some of the birds that I saw included some common loons flying overhead, red-breasted nuthatch, yellow-rumped warbler, peregrine falcon (2), brown creeper, white ibises in the distant marsh, eastern phoebe, cedar waxwing, wood duck, mallard, American black duck, swamp sparrow, black vulture, brown thrasher, laughing gull, song sparrow, and greater yellowlegs.
