Birding at Avalon Nature Preserve: Featuring a Pine Warbler (10/2/21)

This was our first trip to the Avalon Nature Preserve. We walked along several trails this morning by the pond, in the woods, and in the meadow so we saw a nice mix of birds. We saw three warblers: black-and-white, northern parula, and pine. We also saw both golden-crowned and ruby-crowned kinglets. Other birds that we identified included red-eyed vireo, Savannah sparrow, eastern phoebe, belted kingfisher, American robin, red-breasted nuthatch, mallard, ring-billed gull, blue jay, and downy woodpecker.
