We went to two adjacent areas of the park near the Arkansas River. The first area we walked to was the Redtail Picnic Area. Some of the birds we identified here were double-crested cormorant, mallard, Canada goose, belted kingfisher, and Say’s phoebe. The second area we stopped at was the Kestrel Picnic Area. Birds we saw here included great blue heron, osprey, Wilson’s warbler, and Canada goose.
