We walked around the trail twice this morning. There was a lot of bird activity but it was sometimes difficult to follow and identify the birds either because they were high in the trees, hidden by leaves, or moved around too fast. Some of the birds we identified were red-bellied woodpecker, American robin, red-headed woodpecker, great blue heron, American robin, Wilson’s warbler, American redstart (many of them), brown-headed nuthatch, eastern wood-pewee, black-and-white warbler, ruby-throated hummingbird, great-crested flycatcher, laughing gull, blue jay, pine warbler, yellow warbler, and downy woodpecker.
