We first went to The Point to the bayside below the parking lot. The tide was low and we saw several birds on the sandbars. Some of the birds we saw included brown pelicans (at least a dozen), American oystercatcher, osprey, great black-backed gull, laughing gull, piping plover, royal tern, common tern, least tern, common loon, ruddy turnstone, and black-bellied plover. In the distance by the lighthouse were at least ten surf scoters. Next, we went to the fishing pier but didn’t stay there long because it was crowded. While we were there, we identified osprey, laughing gull, barn swallow, and American robin.
