Birding at Edwin B. Forsythe NWR: Featuring Ospreys (4/14/25)

For the second part of our day, we went back to Edwin B. Forsythe NWR. This time, we started along Wildlife Drive where we picked up 27 species. Some of the birds we saw here were snowy egret, osprey, great egret, brant, American herring gull, ruddy duck, northern shoveler, green-winged teal, Forster’s tern, gadwall, dunlin, American black duck, American oystercatcher, great blue heron, bufflehead, northern harrier, blue-winged teal, greater yellowlegs, and one snow goose. Along the Gull Pond Tower Trail, birds we saw included Caspian tern, mute swan, osprey, killdeer, common tern, bald eagle, Canada goose, tree swallow, barn swallow, laughing gull, and American robin. Our last stop was along the Leeds Eco-Trail boardwalk where some of the birds we saw were turkey vulture, osprey, northern harrier, great black-backed gull, great egret, and tree swallow.
