We started birding from the parking lot, continued over the causeway, and looped around the island trail. Some of the birds we identified included white ibis (flock of 2), northern harrier, northern flicker, yellow-rumped warbler (many), osprey (6 were in three adjacent tees), gray catbird, dark-eyed junco, great blue heron, great egret, greater yellowlegs, palm warbler, eastern phoebe, golden-crowned kinglet, Carolina chickadee, and white-throated sparrow.
