Birding at Cape Henlopen State Park: Featuring an Osprey (10/4/24)

We walked the loop around The Point which had just reopened after the bird nesting season was over. We started on the bayside below The Point parking lot and went clockwise around to the beachside. The following birds were seen: osprey, herring gull, blue jay, brown pelican, royal tern, black-bellied plover, ring-billed gull, semipalmated plover, double-crested cormorant, great black-backed gull, great blue heron, lesser black-backed gull, Caspian tern, semipalmated sandpiper, dunlin, Forster’s tern, and black scoter (one in the ocean).
