There were a few birds we identified at the Visitor’s Center in the short time we were there including house wren, purple martin, brown-headed cowbird, and laughing gull. We identified more birds along the Gull Pond Tower Trail including tree swallow, common yellowthroat, Forster’s tern, great blue heron, great egret, mute swan, and eastern kingbird. We spent the rest of our time there along Wildlife Drive. Among the birds we identified there were osprey, marsh wren, common yellowthroat, red-winged blackbird, snow goose (1), glossy ibis (flock), ruddy turnstone, willet, Canada goose, bald eagle, short-billed dowitcher, clapper rail, semipalmated sandpiper, black skimmer, American oystercatcher, barn swallow, ring-billed gull, and double-crested cormorant.
