We went to three areas of the refuge. We didn’t spend much time there and only saw turkey vulture and northern mockingbird. Our second area was the Dike Trail. Some of the birds we saw here were northern mockingbird, snowy egret, Carolina wren, house finch, Caspian tern, Forster’s tern, bald eagle (imm.), American avocet, mallard, northern flicker, palm warbler, double-crested cormorant, belted kingfisher, and great blue heron. Our last stop was along the Boardwalk Trail. Birds we saw here included great egret, lesser yellowlegs, red-winged blackbird, northern harrier, and gray catbird.
