Our second trip this afternoon took us north a little bit to Fowler Beach. Before we got there, we saw several thousand snow geese in a field near Fowler Beach on Prime Hook Road just before Cods Road. We drove to the parking lot at Fowler Beach after that. Some of the birds we saw there included red-winged blackbird, ring-billed gull, northern harrier, dunlin, hooded merganser, great blue heron, mallard, northern pintail, bufflehead, and American black duck. We looked for short-eared owls towards sunset but we didn’t see any.
