Birding at Cape Henlopen State Park: Featuring a Great Black-Backed Gull (10/22/21)

For the first time since last winter, I birded the two miles around The Point. It was a mostly cloudy day with some sun at times and even an early ten-minute rain delay forcing me to get back into my car. There were several flocks of black scoters with one flock totaling around 40 of them. I also saw a group of about 40 brown pelicans near Lewes Beach. Some of the other birds I saw was a bald eagle flying low over the water, osprey, yellow-rumped warbler, tree swallow, royal tern, northern flicker, Caspian tern, sanderling, ring-billed gull, great black-backed gull, and double-crested cormorant.
