Birding at Cape Henlopen State Park: Featuring a Northern Cardinal (8/18/20)

First, I birded the bay area below The Point parking lot and identified osprey, barn swallow, and laughing gull. The tide was high and the area was virtually empy of birds. No shorebirds were seen along the shore in the protected area. I found more birds along the Seaside Nature Trail including purple martin, northern cardinal, tree swallow, chipping sparrow, and brown-headed cowbird. On my way leaving the park, I saw a wild turkey crossing the road that leads to the fishing pier.
